Community Heroes can be found anywhere.  We pass them on a walk, in the super market, or at a coffee shop.  For the purposes of the NAF Community Hero program, a borrower may participate if they are actively employed as noted below (with the exception of a Veteran who does not need to be actively employed in the Military but rather has completed necessary requirements for VA benefits):

How does it work?

Borrowers participating in the program need to complete the form below and present their Loan Officer at New American Funding with their Certificate of Participation.  Costs for the appraisal are paid by the borrower upfront during the transaction and then the borrower is eligible to receive a credit.  In addition to the requirements above for being a "Hero", the property must be a primary 1-unit home.  Additionally, a borrower must meet the income requirements as set by the Fannie Mae HomeReady® Program. Eligible loan types are Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loans adhering to county loan limits.  To check a specific properties income limits CLICK HERE.
